The House of Blackheads.
This building was rebuilt in time for Riga's eighth centenary celebrations in 2001 after being shelled by the Germans in 1941 then totaly demolished by the Soviets once the war had ended. It was originally used as a meeting place for one of Riga's guilds, "The Blackheads" who took their name from their patron Maurice, the Roman warrior saint of North African origin.
